Crowne Plaza Harrogate

King's Rd, Harrogate HG1 1XX, UK – 01423 849988

Four nights at the Crowne Plaza was excellent. 1st impressions count. The reception staff started off with a warm welcome friendly welcome. The staff were friendly even in the corridors. Our room was spacious. The bed well laid and large. The food in the restaurant was good. Both dinner and breakfast was tasty. The chefs did very well. Ample car parking and not too far from the train. Overall, 5 stars.

Highly recommended. Next to conference centre. Rooms spacious and very clean. All staff cannot do enough to make sure you have a great visit. Bar comfy but expensive. Public areas inviting and comfortable.

The Majestic Hotel, Harrogate - part of The Cairn Collection

Ripon Rd, Harrogate HG1 2HU, UK – 01423 700300

The majestic hotel is indeed "majestic". it is an impressive building architecturally. It transports you to a different time where everything was a little bit more classy. A huge open fire in one of the sitting rooms was a great place to sit and read a book. Don't get me wrong the hotel is dated in places however if you look at the bones of the place it will amaze you. Our room was very large and recently refurbished to a very good standard. the location is central to Harrogate and a great base to explore from. The pool area didn't impress me but the facility is there if you fancy a dip.

Good, old style ambience. I like it, but like many of these places around the country, you can only imagine how they might have been at the height of their popularity. It was a very busy time when I visited and the staff, though good, had difficulty coping. Service was a little slow. Food quality was good and less expensive than expected offers competitive rates for any type of hotel, from small independent hotels to a five star luxury ones. The site is available in 24 languages and offers over 71000 hotels in 71 countries. Could be useful for you. There are of course several such sites.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Harrogate Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Pine Marten

Otley Rd, Beckwithknowle, Harrogate HG3 1UE, UK – 01423 709999

What a totally fabulous quirky country pub. Have just returned from a two day break at the Pine Martin in Harrogate. Initially we were planning on staying just the one night, however upon arrival we loved the place and we decided to see if we could extend the stay and booked a further night. Great location just on the outskirts of Harrogate centre, and only a short drive/ taxi ride to the centre. We stayed in a double room with a fabulous view of the grounds/ garden area. Room was very clean and spacious and well equipped. We decided to eat in the restaurant the first evening, menu was varied with plenty of choice including special menu. Food arrived piping hot, great presentation and Top quality. Staff were very attentive always smiling and very helpful. Was impressed by the complimentary continental breakfast, plenty of choice and a good start to the day. Thanks again Victoria for all your help during our stay. We will most definitely be back again in the near future. Would definitely recommend the Pine Martin Perfect 👌

Superb food, atmosphere and service. Manager suggested a rhubarb gin and ginger. Delicious. The gin was great even without the ginger. Staff was very attentive. Whole grain salad with lamb kebabs and pizza were excellent.

The Fat Badger

Cold Bath Rd, Harrogate HG2 0NF, UK – 01423 505681

I don't know much about the chef here other than that, from my own experience, they are extremely talented. The food is mouth wateringly good, and the beer is of top quality too. A great, stylish bar in one of the nicest parts of Harrogate. Great atmosphere too.

What a great place, lovely surroundings, fabulous food and the staff are brilliant. One or two reviews complainedabout the background music - we thought it was fantastic.

The Alexandra

Prospect Pl, Harrogate HG1 1LB, UK – 01423 564976

Had the most incredible Lamb chops, the seasoning was out of this world with a surprising chilli tank. Yum! The pub itself is quiet and has a lovely outdoors seating area. The staff are polite and helpful. And the food is reasonably priced and a very good standard. I'll be back every day this week while I stay here.

We came here to watch one of the world cup matches. Managed to find a nice table close to one of their screens and had a couple of pints and the sharing meat platter. It was delicious!! Service was a bit slow, but I guess they were very busy too

The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Harrogate Campsites and Caravan Parks

Bilton Park

Bilton Ln, Harrogate HG1 4DL, UK – 01423 565070

A nice site with few rules to stick to but we have no problem with that. The chap on reception kindly pitched us in a non dog field (with our dog) with high hedges as windy weather was forecast. They weren't joking, hurricane Hector reeked it's force. Came back to the tent with nice horizontal rip in the skirt. Fortunately, and very thankful to the owners, who donated some gaffa tape to repair the rip. Many thanks.

Just spent a great weekend. Fantastic site would highly recommend. We will be going back. Great for walking and lovley pub just down the road.

Harrogate Caravan Park

Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate HG2 8NZ, UK – 01423 546145

Found this site almost by accident and so glad we did. Its a lovely site, quiet, clean and well maintained by lovely friendly staff. Ideally placed for exploring Yorkshire. Excellent cafe and farmers shop selling local produce. This plus a Sainsbury's within walking distance makes catering a breeze. Would recommend it without reserve.

Knaresborough Caravan and Motorhome Club Site

Knaresborough Club Site, New Rd, Scotton, Knaresborough HG5 9HH, UK – 01423 860196

Great site. Quiet, excellent facilities, bistro, serviced pitches well spaced out. Can't fault it. Best CMHC we have found. This is our second visit and we will definitely come back.

A lovely site. All the usual CMHC facilities with the added bonus of a BISTRO. Ideally situated as an overnight stop going up (or down) the A1 and a perfect base for an extended stay visiting Yorkshire's tourist attractions.
